So What’s “Intentional” Character Ethics?

June 2nd, 2010

Hey it’s Dr. Mike here on this great Thursday morning!

You have to check out my video blog below on a question I answered
that many of my Twitter and Facebook followers have been asking me.

It’s a great question. See if you are someone who “gets it” when it
comes to my answer.

Have a great week and Take Care,

Dr. Mike

Dr. Mike – I am a wife, mother, grandmother and schoolbus driver. Thanks for reminding me about intentional character and how to instill this in my kids and also my students every day in school and out. Thanks for the videos and I enjoyed hearing you speak in person at Purdue University this summer.

Wow Lisa… Great comment! Sounds like you are inspiring those kids.

Dr. Mike — Thank you so much for the great Video Blogs each week. Please keep them coming. They remind me how I should instill intentional character ethics in to my life!

    Thanks again!

I run a concession stand for the summer. I am also the assistant director in juvenile probation. I get most of my help in concessions from the kids that I work with in probation. They come and do community service. The one thing that I try to teach them is “intentional character”. I tell them that not only do they need to put a smile on their face, but they need to make those people want to come back and buy from our concessions. I say “ask them how their games are going. Ask them where they are from”. I let them know that how they treat people today, is a good start for how they treat people in any future job that they will have. I am the mentor and have to remember that they watch everything that I do, so I try to watch myself and how I interact with people.
Please keep doing what you do! I appreciate all the help that I get from watching your blogs. Thanks! Lisa Hershberger (Indiana)
