Video #1: Dr. Mike as ABC’s “Advice Guru?”

October 19th, 2010

Ok… So, I have really exciting news — I have thrown my hat in the ring for the
ABC Good Morning America “Advice Guru” position!

Who knows, maybe a “Cheesehead,” originally from Wisconsin, is just what the Big Apple needs.

Check out my 1st of 4 video BLOGS now… You’ll get to see the questions thrown at me and my answers back to the folks at ABC!

In the application, they asked me “Hey Dr. Mike, What would you tell this person who tells you this: ‘Whenever there is an issue between my mother-in-law and me, my husband refuses to stand up for me. How do I get him to value our relationship more than the one with his mother?’”

See what you think of my answer… Leave your much appreciated comments below.

Until next time – Live your life with passion and purpose!

    Dr. Mike,
As always, a pleasure to listen to your thoughts. Have watched and listened to you for many years. You always are insightful and on target with your comments. ABC would do themselves proud to have you “giving advice”. I look forward to that.

Go for it! You are a great communicator. Everyone could benefit from your advice. Good Morning America would probably see higher ratings if they selected you. Good luck,

That is fabulous! Good luck, they won’t find a better person speaking the truth.

  4. Dianne says:

Dr. Mike – you did a really great job – I would have liked an example or a quick story to reinforce the comments – that’s just me! Hope you get the “gig”!
    Make it a great day

    Great advice Dr. Mike!
When you get married, your wife becomes your first priority. Listen to her and choose to respond in positive terms. Since this is advice to the wife, she should also realize that how she responds to this situation is her “response ability.” You’d make a great advice Guru for any of the networks. The question I have for ABC is: Do you want to wait very long before naming Dr. Mike the advice Guru for Good Morning America…my guess is CBS and NBC will be looking into him too! Wow, what a great opportunity for America!

My vote is for YOU! Best of luck with that!

  7. Tom says:

Dr. Mike – Interesting overview; make it specific. My wife wants me to stop going to my mother for advice on child raising. I ask a few questions, so what? Can’t I tap in to my mom on somethings; I don’t ask on all things child raising. Continue with specifics like that..Because when my wife says you are not sticking up for me or something like that it does not give any specifics of what the wife wants. OR needs?? Do she want to feel like she is first?
Why does she feel second? Does she feel judged by mother in law? Why is that? Is it real or perceived?

  8. John Downey says:

    Dr. Mike,

As always good advice. I will be retiring from Archbold in December and look forward to getting up every morning and seeing your pretty face on tv. You have had a tremendous amount of influence with Archbold parents, students and coaches. I can’t wait for you to share your wisdom with the world.

    Good luck,
