How Did Evil Win Out At Penn State?

November 21st, 2011

What in the wide, wide, wide world of sports happened at Penn State? – Should Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky, Mike McQuery and Penn State be inducted into the “Hall Of Shame?” CLICK PLAY right now to get my take on all of this and please leave your comments below after viewing.

  1. Jan Payne says:

Dr Mike – you got me – you are spot on!
It makes me ill to think of the politics that caused this corruption at Penn State – and we know that now it has come into the open more and more light will be shed on this kind of behavior – more and more students will share their horrific and life altering experiences in a shower or a locker room at the hands of a someone in a ‘hallowed’ position. With the same pardon the expression ‘cocky’ attitude – “WHO will BELIEVE YOU?” “You better NOT say anything!” “Do you know how hard it is to get a job?”
Victim or Victor – you always have a choice – Dr Mike as spokes person for the BBB on Character Ethics – you have it right – DO THE RIGHT THING – even or especially when no one is looking!

  2. Paul says:

The heinous crimes reported should raise the ire of all. Once again it is indicative of the power of money in our society. We worship it at the expense of good, sound moral judgement. As you noted many adults allowed “evil” to prevail. It seems that they are no better than the perpetrator. In regards to the students, they are misguided and lack the understanding of the damage that was wrought upon the victims. If, one of their siblings or someone close to them were to be a victim, they would look at it differently. High position requires high responsibility. The “arrogance” of the adults who did not report this incident is sickening. Yet, we see “arrogance” and “stupidity” almost everywhere we look.
My concern is for the “innocents”.

  3. Holly Marie says:

I think it truly shows the value of “good character” is lacking in today’s society. It shouldn’t just be about business and a profit… it should be about the culture, community and character of an organization. Obviously, one or more of those items were missing at Penn State. I hope that they can move past this and work towards becoming an honest school of good character.

Is This The Death Of Outrage?

June 8th, 2011

  1. Jan Payne says:

    Weiner is a whiner and a weiner…

  2. Dena says:

Thank you Dr. Mike for sharing the TRUTH with us. I agree that the leaders of today get by with so much and when they do get caught they refuse to take responabiliy for their actions. What does it mean when we trust people in high places, then they abuse the position that they have been given. I sometimes think that a child could do better.

  3. Paul Bukky says:

    Mike,
It seems that the Internet is revealing just how stupid our leaders and quite possibly our society are…
Weiner is mentally unstable.. The Tressel debaucle is another indication of further sickness in our society…break the rules, someone will cover your tail-as long as you are a good to great athlete and you can bring in the $$$$$$.(I believe that Joe Quaranta did extensive work on this). Tressel sold his soul for the elusive victory..I believe we are desensitized….everywhere we look, greed, unwarranted adulation, immoral, amoral behavior. Lack of social and moral conscience on the part of our top level government, business and educational institutions…it is all about money….Yes, I am “ticked” off….I am outraged…But until we have the courage to Vote out all incumbents, investigate and validate the credentials of each and everyone of our Congress…and those who run our schools and universities very little will change. It is inconceivable that we can continue the way we are going..monetarily or otherwise. Change is coming and it is long overdue.
